Port-au-Prince, Wednesday, November 21, 2018 ((rezonodwes.com)) – Johnny Metellus, aka Patchou, was arrested Wednesday morning by police officers assigned to the police station of Delmas 33, in the Haitian capital.
Installed on October 24 at the station deputy delegate of the district of Port-au-Prince by the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT), the new collaborator of Joseph Pierre Rigaud Duplan, delegate of the West, is accused of having in his possession, at the time of his arrest, several illegal weapons.
Alerted by this arrest, Tet Kale militants gathered in front of the police station of Delmas 33 to demand the immediate release
Government officials would be on hand to convince the police, who were totally reluctant, to release the defendant. An official of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Port-au-Prince would have been noticed on the spot by witnesses.
According to Senator Antonio “Don Kato” Cheramy, the vice-delegate was released under pressure from the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT). The senator also revealed that two other relatives of President Jovenel Moïse apprehended for the same facts were also released by pressure exerted by the Presidency.
