The Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, has called on the Haitian authorities to investigate the murder of Nehemiah Joseph on October 10 in the locality of Mirebalais
Sunday, October 18, 2019 ((rezonodwes.com)) – “I condemn the murder of Nehemiah Joseph,” she said. “I urge the authorities to spare no effort to investigate this crime and ensure that all those involved are brought to justice. Journalists and the media make an indispensable contribution to democracy and governments must give priority to their security, “said Audrey Azoulay.
The body hit by several bullets by Nehemiah Joseph, a radio journalist and presenter on Panic FM in Mirebalais and correspondent of Mega, radio station of Port-au-Prince, was found in the trunk of his car.
The journalist recently declared on social networks that he had received threats regarding his reports on the management by the authorities of the political crisis affecting the country.
