Exhibition “Dictatorship and Resistance” in Fokal
Friday, November 2, 2018 ((rezonodwes.com)) – From November 6 to December 21, 2018, FOKAL will present the exhibition “Dictatorship and Resistance”, retracing the history of Duvalier regime father and son, which lasted from 1957 to 1986.
Serious crimes and human rights violations perpetrated in a systematic and organized way during these decades, too often unrecognized by Haitian youth, have repercussions to date on the country.
The fight against impunity and historical revisionism is a fundamental issue in the advancement of responsible and respectful human rights governance and in the creation of a real process transitional justice in Haiti
The exhibition, which will be presented in the atrium of FOKAL, will be accompanied by related activities: the theater show forum “32 years later , carried by Pinas Alcéra, as well as discussions with activists and specialists of the period in various places of the capital.
This activity is part of the project “Access to justice and fight against impunity in Haiti “, advocated by Avocats Sans Frontières Canada and FOKAL and supported by Global Affairs Canada
