In a circular note addressed to the Secretaries General of the member associations by the Secretary General of Concacaf, Phillippe Maggio, it was notified that a new format for the qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, was adopted, this, to overcome the suspension due to Covid-19 from the windows of the FIFA international matches in the months of March, June and September.  This new Concacaf qualifying format, which was presented by President Victor Montagliani to all presidents of Concacaf member associations, prioritizes the integrity of football allowing the 35 Fifa members of the zone to participate to more significant matches for direct access to the 3.5 qualifying places for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, indicates this circular in which it is also noted that these qualifications consist of three (3) rounds q ui will take place during the FIFA match windows starting in October 2020 and ending in March 2022; at the end of these qualifying rounds we will know the countries which will win the three and a half places representing Concacaf in the final phase of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
First Round  Concacaf's first round of qualifying for Qatar 2022 will be played in a group stage involving FIFA member associations from the area ranked 6-35 according to the FIFA / Coca Cola rancking published on July 16, 2020. These 30 associations will be divided into six groups of five teams; each team will play once against all the others in its group for a total of 4 four matches including two at home and two away during the FIFA match windows in October and November 2020. The six (6) Top ranked countries namely El Salvador, Canada, Curaçao, Panama, Haiti, and Trinidad & Tobago are designated seed of groups A, B, C, D, E, F and the winners of each of these six (6) groups will advance to the next phase.
All matches of the second phase will be played during the FIFA period of March 2021 between the six winners of the previous round in a knockout format round trip. The best-ranked teams at FIFA level after the first phase will have the chance to play their second leg at home. The winners of these double confrontations will go to the final round. Posters are however predefined and we will have the clashes in this order:

Winner of Group B Vs Winner of Group E
Winner of Group C Vs Winner of Group D
Third Round (Final Round)
The Third Round or Final Round will be played with eight selections: the three winners of the second round and the five teams ranked 1-5 according to FIFA / Ranking published on July 16, (Mexico, United States, Costa Rica, Jamaica and Honduras). With two-way matches, a mini-championship of 14 days (7 round trips) during the FFA windows of June, September, October and November 2021, and January and March 2022, this phase will determine the three best teams that will qualify directly for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 while the 4th team will represent Concacaf at the FIFA international play-offs in June 2022.
