Sunday June 28, 2020 ((rezonodwes.com)) – As the Covid-19 pandemic hits the country hard, Internet users, in particular the members of Plimay, did indeed blow out their first candle the past weekend.
Since June 20, 2019, an idea has been materialized. A new breath of hope colors the arteries of contemporary literature in Haiti and around the world. Without detours, under the leadership of the poet Dierf Dumѐne, Plimay has an essential place in literary platforms working both in the dissemination of information and the promotion of works relating to contemporary literature.
Plimay is a focused platform essentially on web content and is open to all authors and / or writers from various horizons, replies the founder of Plimay, Dierf Dumѐne.
Born from the desire to create something This dynamic platform, exclusively devoted to contemporary literature, has seven to eight members on its board of directors. It is therefore about twenty Haitian and foreign volunteers who are piloting this project.
Literary sites, as we know, are rare in Haiti. Aware of this, Dierf Dumѐne and his collaborators have set up Plimay, which considers itself as a window for all (your) authors, without questioning their ethnicity. “At Plimay, we have a lot of discipline. A text is eligible to be published on our platform when it catches the attention of the reading committee. We mainly base ourselves on the quality of the texts. The texts that we publish must not be the subject of a previous publication, whether on a website or on social networks, “says Dumѐne.”
“Plimay does not identify with any political structure, any religious current. We value the work of any writer and / or author without questioning their origin or their social status “admits the poet.
Initiatives, les members of Plimay have many. They already launched in July 2019 the 1st edition of the Fortnight of Women's Poetry, which was purely virtual. Lovers of literature will have something to savor. Despite the Covid-19, the members of Plimay promise to carry out the second edition of this Fortnight of activities devoted to female literature even if it will always be in the virtual world. popularize the poetry of women, in a macho and misogynistic world.
Haitian Internet users, while surfing the web now have a website (www.plimay.com) with a mainly literary vocation to revel in.
Cherry on the cake, Plimay announces to literary buffs the creation of a Literary Prize which will soon be launched. All information relating to this award will be communicated and available on their website.
