Taiwanese Ambassador Hu Cheng-Hao was awarded the National Order of Honor and Merit by President Jovenel Moses on Friday at the National Palace at the end of his mission in Haiti.

Outgoing Foreign Affairs Minister Edmond Bocchit made the recommendation to the Head of State by noting the diplomat's commitment to promoting and harmonizing the good relations between the two countries.

One of these memoranda of understanding concerns the project to strengthen electricity networks in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince. The envelope is estimated at US $ 150 million.

Ambassador Hu Cheng-Hao will be replaced in Haiti by his countryman Ambassador Bernard Liu.
