On the initiative of Meanningful World Haiti and the Lorquet Foundation for a New Haiti (FOLONHA), the second conference on the occasion of World Day for Mental Health will be organized in Haiti on October 10, 11 and 12, 2019 at the National Library from 8 am to 3 pm
The announcement was made this Saturday, October 5, 2019, by Rubinson Dorcé Executive Director of Meanningful during his participation on the show TOP HAITI. This show TOP HAITI is broadcast every Saturday morning between 8 am and 10 am on 104.7 FM and tunein Radio D's.
“Mental health and violence: causes and psychosocial consequences of gender-based violence in Haiti”, this is the theme that will be debated during the seventy-two (72) hours of this conference. Lecturers such as Doctors Junot Joseph, Herold Toussaint, René Domersant and Wallière Pierre are scheduled for this second conference on mental health in Haiti with a participation fee of 1500 gourdes.
Rubinson Dorcé spoke of a sorry state of the situation of mental health in Haiti. Various situations drawn from the life of the Haitian people can provoke these repetitive cases of mental patients all over the country. A tendency to worsen, according to the Executive Director of Meanningful World Haiti, because the country has only about ten specialists able to treat these cases of diseases.
