For its fourth edition, the Haitian film festival commonly known as Festival Nouvelles Vues is launching a short film competition this year with the aim of promoting artistic creation in Haiti and around the world. This competition is aimed at directors from African and Caribbean countries such as Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali, Madagascar, the French departments of Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana (French), Trinidad and Tobago, Dominican Republic, Jamaica without forgetting Haiti.
This competition will allow the organizing members to offer the population and festival-goers in particular quality products, original and highlighting the beauty and diversity of African and Caribbean cinema. Presented among others by the Sine Nouvel Foundation The Festival Nouvelles Vues, which will take place just after the Cannes festival this year, is a festival open to the world and to major challenges of society such as climate change or the c ombat against political corruption. In 2012 for the second edition, more than twenty films were screened. Films from France, the United States, Mexico, Guadeloupe and Martinique.
Last year the films presented at the festival were appreciated by the Haitian press and critics. The organizers believe that by inviting other countries to participate in the festival opens Haiti to the world while allowing the world to discover our culture.
The fourth edition of the Nouvelles Vues festival will be held in Port-au -Prince from May 27 to 31, 2020, until date the official completion is not yet revealed.
