Oil recedes in the absence of new announcements of OPEC
New York, Thursday, September 12, 2019 ((rezonodwes.com)) – Oil prices fell on Thursday, weighted by the lack of further declines in production by oil-exporting countries and a possible easing of tensions between Iran and the United States.
In New York, the US barrel of WTI for delivery in October ended 55.09 dollars 1.2% (or 66 cents) less than the day before, Wednesday, September 11.
In London, oil prices started the day rather stable, before falling slightly and then more strongly.
Moreover, oil was still suffering Thursday from its tumble Wednesday, after Bloomberg revealed that President Donald Trump was considering easing sanctions on Iran.
An intention that led to the departure on Tuesday of John Bolton, a national security adviser and holding a hard line vis-à-vis Iran.
