Monday, June 17, 2019 ((rezonodwes.com)) – The young Haitian, Négresse Colas, Slameuse, Model and student in accounting at the university INUQA. won the Prix Saisons des Lettres, in the category “Nouvelle” for his text “ The price of a disappointment” .
The Congolese Letter Season is an initiative of Édition Plus and the National Library of Togo to allow pen workers and musicians to record their books and musical works. This cultural event took place from 3 to 8 June 2019 and a digital platform was launched to offer more facilities to writers.
The competitions were launched in April 2019, with the aim of encouraging young slamers, poets and writers to work much more and to promote literature and the creative mind among young people. Many countries participated, Italy, France, Cameroon, Senegal, Mali, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Haiti.
The text of Colas, about ten pages, plunges us into a very absurd imaginary, with a dense writing and an incredible form of aesthetics.
The story presents a girl who is going through a gloomy economic crisis. Lacking the means to pay for her secretarial studies, she offers her body to Marchant Pierre Paul, an arrogant, authoritarian sexagenarian and premature ejaculation.
Finally, this one asks Linda to break the relationship since his wife is a voodoo priestess who could zombify her. Linda questioning her mother about her father's origin, with a great feeling of sadness and desolation discovers that Marchant Pierre Paul is his biological father. Tormented, Linda commits suicide.
In addition to a certificate, Négresse Colas will have his text published in a collective book by Éditions Plus, as a reward
From his real name Manicheca Colas, Négresse Colas, born in the city of Port-au-Prince in 1995, has been engaged in poetry since the age of ten. “ My Marks, My Story”, his first poem collection was published by Editions Plus.
