Thursday, November 14, 2019 ((rezonodwes.com)) – A year after the massacre of La Saline, Justice is slow to catch the neck of the authors and co-perpetrators of this crime. In a press release dated November 13, 2019, US parliamentarians seek justice for the victims.
Eliot L. Engel, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the United States House of Representatives support from other parliamentarians, seek justice for the victims of the massacre of November 2018 in La Saline which caused the death of 71 people. Several houses were burned at the moment, according to the National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH)
In the same statement, Engel calls the Haitian government and justice to hold accountable to the perpetrators of the massacre and those who have committed Other acts of violence in the district of La Saline
The American parliamentarians denounce the Haitian justice in this file. Despite the various reports published on the Saline massacre by human rights organizations in Haiti, the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ) and the United Nations relaying relevant information on those involved in this horrific crime no judicial proceedings are brought to bring justice to the victims.
Existing government officials were indexed in all reports on the Saline massacre, and in March 2019, 104 US congressmen requested investigation of the massacre and allegations of corruption in the country, through correspondence addressed to the Head of the US State Department Mike Pompeo
