Since 2001, the SACD prize for French-speaking Dramaturgy has been awarded to an author of a French-speaking work from a selection of texts proposed by the House of Authors of Limoges. Ms. Andrise Pierre is the second Haitian author to receive this award, after Jean-René Lemoine in 2009.
Having completed part of her studies in France, she lives in Port-au-Prince where she teaches French and Haitian literature .
Already distinguished in 2019 for her play “Vidé mon belly du sang de mon fils”, Ms. Pierre testifies to the eminent place that Haiti occupies in Francophone literature and dramaturgy and to the vitality of the links between Haiti and the France in the field of culture.
