Haiti – Politic: New DG at the head of the National Laboratory of Building and Public Works
Nader Joiseus installed Sainlo Saint-Victor last week as the new Director General of the National Laboratory of Building and Public Works (LNBTP). He replaces Yves Fritz Joseph in office for 16 years.
In his speech, after the usual thanks for his appointment to the head of the Laboratory, Sainlo Saint-Victor declared that structurally, under his administration:
“The LNBTP will contribute to the revision of the standard specifications for the construction of roads and bridges in the country, dated 1982, like those of the AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) in the United States, or Eurocodes with our European partners;
He will continue to participate in the implementation project at the Ministry of the National Road Referential;
The Laboratory will strengthen the internal structure “National Road Network Observatory” in the context of providing the Ministry with updated data on the state of the network, for better road maintenance programming;
Finally, the LNBTP will strengthen the Cement Laboratory and build a Steel Laboratory in order to replace the tasks entrusted to it […] on the regularization of the application and marketing of the cement and steels used in construction work at across the country. “
Adding that on the administrative level, he intended with his team to ensure the implementation of “a working environment promoting the professional development of staff within the institution and on the other hand, strategies aimed at the modernization of internal processes of the Laboratory for a better rationalization of the management of its material and financial resources.”
” […] In summary, these are the major challenges that together we will eventually meet at the LNBTP, while continuing to offer quality service to our private and public administration clients. “
Learn more about the LNBTP:  The National Laboratory of Building and Public Works is a public institution with autonomous management created on March 11, 1974 and placed under the supervision of the Mini stry of Public Works, Transport and Communications. It is responsible for monitoring the quality of the infrastructure under construction in the country and promoting the application of standards in building and civil engineering. He must thus ensure the viability and sustainability of the structures. The LNBTP actively participates in efforts to reduce the vulnerability of the population and infrastructure to risks linked to natural disasters such as: earthquakes, floods, ground movements and hurricanes.
