Thank you for your continued support of the National Alliance for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals. As we prepare for the conference in November, we hope to answer your critical questions before the event.
NAAHP is looking towards Haiti's future and how to reach the future. A country with a place on the world stage, a healthy economy, a large tourism industry, a connected diaspora, and a strong trade throughout the world. To achieve this shared vision, we have created a NAAHP Haiti Roadmap, a 2020-2040 Vision that will foster growth and will lead us towards this bright future.
We identified keys to continuing Haiti's upward trajectory and how to take it would be a strong asset, it would be more efficient, it would be more profitable, and it would have to be profitable.
Three key components can help us create such an ecosystem: infrastructure, governance
In order to fully step on the world stage, Haiti will need the infrastructure to match. To attract more tourism, business and growth Haiti must become accessible inside and outside of the country. This means improving Haiti's water, education, transportation, energy, and telecommunications, giving the country the solid foundation
As Haiti cleanses itself of corruption and looks to the future, key partnerships in the private and public sectors can help strengthen the laws and regulations to foster business growth in the country and obtain more foreign direct investment. With tightened cyber security, fair investment rules, business licensing regulations, secure rights laws, competition laws, healthy corporate practices, and transparency and accountability, Haiti can dispel lingering fears and form a community inside and outside the country that stimulates investment and growth
These clusters will pool producers, institutions, businesses, economic experts, and other key figures to make groups that create advantages, resources, and connections. Industry-focused, these clusters will be workforce development, capital formation, and entrepreneurship to create sustainable growth. Some of these industries include: transshipment, cultural “eco” tourism, organic crops and foods, and business process outsourcing.
With these three key components, Haiti can create building blocks that lead to a bright and prosperous future.
This is just the tip of the iceberg, as our Roadmap 2020-2040 vision is ready to become a comprehensive guide to Haiti's future success. If you would like to become part of this movement, join us at the conference in Miami, Florida. We look forward to hearing your ideas there.
