Haiti – Culture : 3rd edition of the Feminist Festival «Nègès Mawon»
The 3rd Edition of the Feminist Festival “Nègès Mawon” will take place from 24 to 29 September 2018 in various places in Port-au-Prince, including the Foundation Knowledge and Freedom (FOKAL). On the program: lectures, shows, exhibitions, screenings…
“Nègès Mawon” is a young feminist organization working in the fields of education, training and culture. The idea of this festival responds to the need to look at the cultural and artistic production with a feminist perspective, but also to experiment with a new way of understanding and renewing the issues of feminist militancy by using art in general, to try to revitalize the Haitian feminist movement, give it a new “leadership”, a new image and involve new actresses and new actors.
