Hancy Pierre, former Coordinator of the Faculty of Human Sciences (FASCH) of the State University of Haiti (UEH), Specialist in Human and Social Sciences analyzed the social context of the Coronavirus pandemic (Covid19) which is currently spreading on the planet. The Professor proposing to apprehend this problem on the basis of ethics believes that mutual and responsible surveillance is necessary instead of this drastic and ostracized isolation imposed by governments with a view to countering the disease.
weekly program Top Haiti broadcast every Saturday morning between 8h and 10h on 104.7 FM and on radio tune D'S and on radio Top Haiti on the Zeno Radio platform on Saturday March 21, 2020, Hancy Pierre offers a reading prioritizing responses appropriate social issues. The aspects, according to the academic, of social distancing, regional planning and care which we highlight these times – these claim the highly social dimension of the current crisis.
Hancy Pierre criticizes facade speech made by some disparaged governments who try, according to him, to legitimize themselves in such a crisis. He made specific reference to the presidents of France, Emmanuel Macron and Jovenel Moise who, long before the coronavirus, suffered from crises of legitimacy. “In every crisis situation, weak political regimes take advantage of it to have legitimacy in misfortune,” said Professor Pierre.
The coronavirus pandemic, maintains Hancy Pierre, highlights the bluff and the limit of globalization. The latter never existed since borders have always been imposed on certain countries including Cuba and Venezuela following the words of the Specialist affirming that the system is on its knees and bends in front of the disease.
