A delegation of the National Administration of Telecommunications and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), authorized by the Minister supervising the sector Engineer Fritz CAILLOT, participates this 29 October until 16 November 2018, in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-18) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
The PP is the supreme decision-making body of the ITU which is called on the one hand; to renew the executive staff of the Union: Secretary General, Deputy Secretary General, the three Bureau Directors, the Board of Directors (48 country posts for the 5 regions) and the Radio Regulations Board (12 expert posts)
and secondly; to define the strategic plan and road map of this specialized organization of the United Nations system.
The Haitian delegation is headed by the Director General of Conatel, the engineer Jean-David RODNEY, as Head of Delegation and joins Jean-Marie Maignan, Ing. M.op.Director of Communications at the Ministry of TPTC and Inrico Dangelo NEARD, Director of the Communication and Public Relations Unit of CONATEL.
The Director of CONATEL will be in Dubai for voting week and national sectoral policy statements and will leave it to the Director of Communications of MTPTC and the Director of Communications of CONATEL to cover the rest of the event and sign the Final Acts.
For the vote, which contains both political and diplomatic political issues, Chancellor Edmond Bochitt granted the full Powers with voting instructions to the Head of the delegation, who is now in his fourth representation. Haiti at these essential meetings of the International Telecommunication Agenda after the PP-14 in Busan in South Korea, the PP-10 in Guadalajara in Mexico and the PP-2002 in Marackech in Morocco.
This event will offer the National Administration materials and means to enrich the action plan it is carrying through CONATEL and consolidate its implementation by taking advantage of the new relationships that will be built. to say the Director General of CONATEL, the “oxen do not seem to be better guarded in the circumstance.”
