If at first, the professional football league had voted for an extension of Ligue 2 to 22 teams for the next season. The French Football Federation (FFF) has not validated this decision. As a result, US Orleans will have to evolve nationally during the new fiscal year.
Because of the pandemic called Covid-19, the FFF decided to end League 2. Faced with such a decision, the professional football league had passed the vote during which, 57% of the votes were in favor of a league 2 with 22 clubs instead of 20. At that time, there would be no relegation. Unfortunately the wheel has turned. For reasons of fairness, the FFF executive committee has taken the professional league decision on the wrong foot. Therefore, the championship will be played with 20 participants. Ranked 20th, Stéphane Lambèse's partners who thought they were escaping relegation, will therefore evolve nationally.
For your information, US Orleans, which was looking for a new technical boss, is already thinking of Claude Robin (59) to succeed the duo Cyrille Carrière & Gilbert Zoonekynd.
