At the El Rancho hotel in Pétion-Ville on Thursday, the FHF authorities launched the national competitions in the presence of club leaders and the spoken, written, television and online press. The CHFP will be launched on September 5 with the Racing Club Haitien which will face Arcahaie FC.
Despite the various problems faced, the Haitian Football Federation has planned the course of the season which will be played over two years, compared to the editions previous ones. Variéno Saint-Fleur, the provisional president of the FHF started the hostilities in this important ceremony by welcoming everyone.
The Secretary General, Carlo Marcelin gave a lot of explanations to the audience. The former player and coach of Haiti first spoke of the funds released by FIFA (1.5 Million dollars) to support the clubs and again recalled that the male and female D1 clubs will receive 10,000 dollars each and 4,000 for D2 teams. He also informed that all national competitions (D1, D2, D3, Women, Youth etc …) will be under the supervision of the Competitions Directorate and that from this season, there will be a D2 and a D3 women which will be played respectively with the new women's teams, wishing to play the CHFF and the regional academies of the FHF.
For his part, the president ai of COCHAFOP, Daniel Jean-Charles thanked the clubs and asked all actors of the king sport of the country to unite in order to help the progression and the good functioning of national football. Very calm, he announced that he will work with enthusiasm for the national championship.
The Director of National Competitions, Hicaine Lafleur, for his part, provided all the technical information relating to the conduct of the national competitions. In women's D1, 15 clubs will compete in the new season with a breakdown of 3 groups (7 in the West, 4 in the South and in the North). In D2, 56 teams will be divided into 4 groups of 14 and the top 4 from each pool will be invited to the playoffs.
For D1, nothing has changed! The 18 clubs are there and will compete for several months. The first match of the season will be played on September 5 and will pit Racing Club Haitien against Arcahaie FC. In this first day, several other tempting matches are reserved for us such as the poster which will oppose Tempete FC to FICA or even AS Capoise which will face VAC.
The playoffs will begin on December 9 and 10 and the series of opening will close on December 27 with the return final. Once completed at the end of the year, they will meet on January 14 for the start of the second part.
