The Dominican Republic U20 selection has a new coach and it is Wilkenson Saint-Louis Pierre, a former player of the Zénith du Cap-Haïtien and Don Bosco FC.  The Dominican Football Federation (FEDOFUTBOL) has a new president this week. After the elections, it was Rubén Garciá who was elected and who replaced Manuel Luna at the head of the said institution and this new committee did not take time to exercise its power, with its first act which is the choice of Wilkenson Saint-Louis Pierre as new coach of the U20 team.
The native Haitian coach, is a former player of the Zénith du Cap-Haïtien and Don Bosco FC before going to neighboring countries where he played for the Dominican selection. He also wore the colors of Atletico Marte in El Salvador and won the LDF with the Barcelona SC.
Nicknamed “Pelé”, the new coach of the Dominican under-20 team had a remarkable year in 2019 in the Dominican Football League by leading Atletico San Cristobál to the final with a defeat against Cibao FC by Hérold Jr Charles. He later announced his resignation but was named “Coach of the Year” at the traditional end-of-season gala.
With this Dominican selection, the coach will participate in the first phase of the World Cup qualifiers U20 which will be played at home from February 15 to 23 to come in a group D with Grenada, Dominica and Anguilla.
