Friday, June 21, 2019 ((rezonodwes.com)) – FOKAL's American Corner welcomed nine (9) students to its premises for a training session on Entrepreneurship under the command of Rock André, from Tuesday, April 4th to Thursday 6 June 2019. From different fields of study, the participants of the workshop each presented a business idea at the beginning of the activity. Mr. André's work consisted in studying the feasibility of their projects, stimulating them to have better defined ideas in the prevailing socio-economic contexts and proposing them a business plan adapted to their respective fields and to the business environment of the company.
This training started with a self-assessment of each participant to test and / or determine their ability to undertake. The use of the participatory learning method allowed each student to participate actively by exposing their ideas for starting a business. After following each presentation with great interest, the trainer suggested ten principles for a good PITCH. These principles, which must essentially go through the identification of the problem, the preparation of the presentation and the management of time, will allow these creators to better communicate about their projects.
At the end of the training, Rock André proposed a Business Plan, academic and adaptable to various situations. A plan that includes nine components outlining the four ways a business generates revenue: customer, product, infrastructure and financial viability. The participants took the time to analyze the different sections of their own project. Many of them had already begun to use leads to build business, others left with the determination to start applying the new principles and are satisfied with these sessions which will be very beneficial to them in the future.
Rock André won the '' Best Social Venture '' award for Pitch on CEDEL HAITI at the 2012 Riata Business Plan Competition in Oklahoma (USA), during which he created the company. He presented the same pitch at the Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank in 2014, in Brazil; and he was selected among the ten young innovators of the region. Rock André introduced one of the first ELEVATOR PITCH competitions in Haiti, at the Salon des Entrepreneurs. He is co-founder of Pot'iwa Pizza, a pizzeria launched in 2015 that specializes in aransò pizzas. Professor at Quisqueya University, he is in charge of the Creation and Administration Course of an SME
