The petrochallengeur Gessica Généus continues to reap laurels for his film “Douvanjou ka leve” at the international level
Saturday, October 19, 2019 ((rezonodwes.com)) – The Haitian actress and director, Gessica Généus, has won, with his film “Douvanjou ka leve”, the grand prize of the International Festival of Documentary Film Amazonia Caribbean (FIFAC2019) in Guyana, announced the novelist Patrick Chamoiseau, president of the Jury.
The Jury also awarded three other prizes : Grand Prize for Best Digital Content, High School Students' Prize and Special Jury Prize
The awards ceremony for the first edition of this festival took place in the unusual setting of Saint-Laurent du Maroni
The FIFAC, open to all screens with the aim of covering all possible fields of expression, allowed the public to attend, from 14 to 18 October, s the boxes of former convicts turned into cinemas, during the day.
In the evening, open-air projections took place near a mango tree in the light of the moon.
