Since the appearance of the new Coronavirus (later called Covid-19 by the WHO) in Wuhan in December 2019, concerns and questions about the impact of this epidemic (later declared a pandemic) on the world economy have multiplied.
In mid-March all these fears are now confirmed. This virus has caused the closure of several borders around the world preventing the free circulation of lives and goods in several regions of the globe. The aviation sector made considerable losses in the first quarter of 2020. Less than 12% of world air traffic compared to this same period for 2019. More than 185,000 flights are canceled and more than 113 billion loss dollars or less than 19% of expected revenues for the year 2020.
The air sector is not the only one affected by this pandemic. Several hundreds of liners had to remain on the quays in several ports around the world. In the United States general suspension of 30 days for cruise ships from March 14.
In several European countries and also in the United States several hundred thousand people working in the catering sector (hotel , restaurant) lost their jobs in the space of a week.
