“ When a milestone has engendered more disappointment than hope for a people, only its profiteers and zombies will celebrate its birthday! “
The Sunday 16 December 2018 demonstration, planned by the hard wing of the political opposition, suffered a bitter defeat. Only two to three hundred people took part, according to several observers.
Despite vigorous appeals by the Fanmi Lavalas party's main spearheads, those of the “Democratic and Popular” Sector, as well as Moïse Jean- Charles of the Party “Pitit Desalin”, the population has shunned the invitation.
Started in La Saline with a small group of supporters, the demonstration has traveled in popular neighborhoods such as Bel-Air, Delmas 2, Carrefour Pean … to looking for sympathizers. Around 14:00, the few dozen remaining demonstrators went to finish their march at the intersection of the road Delmas and boulevard Toussaint Louverture.
Indeed, some claiming to Fanmi Lavalas have decided to borrow the Airport road. They wanted to go to Tabarre at the home of former President Jean Bertand Aristide. The other group of the Pitit Desalin party, opted instead for the Delmas highway to Pétion-Ville. Faced with this disagreement, which had to turn to vinegar, the police had to intervene to put an end to the course.
A great disillusionment for Schiller Louidor, Moses Jean Charles, Me André Michel, Evalière Beauplan and others who expected to enjoy the celebration of the date of December 16 to demand unconditionally the departure of President Jovenel Moses
Note that the date of December 16 of this year brings to the 28th anniversary of the first election called free, honest and democratic organized in the country. An election which brought to the high magistracy of the State, the former priest of Saint John Bosco, Jean Bertrand Aristide.
Ironically, the leaders of the parties of the Political Opposition who calls itself “democratic and popular “, Including Fanmi Lavalas, used this same date to incite the population to the demonstration, with a view to dismissing a democratically elected President.
Faced with this unfortunate observation, one wonders whether they are reuniting Democrats or demagogues?
Perhaps this is what the people have come to understand, which has driven people not to answer the call of those whom they call impostors for the most part! The Mediator
