The Federal Bureau of the Haitian Basketball Federation announced via its vice president, Alph Ulysse, the holding of an international camp this weekend in the United States for young Haitians born on American soil, under the age of 16, wishing to wear the colors of the Haitian national team in the future
This camp will be held from August 16 to 18 at the Christopher Columbus HS in Miami, Florida, the players participants, will come from high schools, and more than one hundred young people are expected. The primary objective is to select the best talents and allow them to obtain a Haitian passport before the age of 16, so as not to be a victim in the future, as was the case last year in the qualifying rounds. 'AmeriCup or FIBA had disqualified the Haitian team as the majority of the players were born in the United States.
The camp will benefit from the support of the organization Haiti Hoops and will be led by the American technical staff of the selection with Matt Brase as head coach and Nick Friedman and Aaron Winshall as coach assistants
