Port-au-Prince, in carnival mode, receives Friday its first refugees of the year 2019, by air
Nassau, Thursday, January 3, 2019 ((rezonodwes.com)) – Rezo Nòdwès learned Thursday night, official sources, that the Bahamas authorities will deport about 158 Haitians who are currently in an irregular situation in their territory.
According to this source who wrote to the newspaper, two planes are chartered to repatriate these Haitian nationals.
A total of 112 Haitian deportees will take their seats aboard the first flight taking off from Nassau to Port- au-Prince, in the morning of Friday.
On the evening of the same day, a group of 46 will be forced to return to Haiti, a country they fled to escape misery, lack of opportunity and violence by armed gangs.
