The attack at Kabul airport, claimed by the Islamic State (IS) group, has left more than 160 injured and at least 85 dead, according to a latest report dated Friday, August 27, 2021. Thirteen American soldiers were killed and 18 others injured in the suicide attacks that occurred.
A new explosion also rocked the Afghan capital around midnight this Friday morning, according to journalists from Agence France-Presse. The spokesman for the Taliban regime said shortly after on Twitter that this explosion was not due to an attack, but to destruction of equipment by the US military at the airport, which the latter did not immediately confirmed.
