Youth Weekend: A Youth Orientation to Education through Socio-cultural Development for a Better Haiti
Croix-des-Bouquets, Sunday, December 16, 2018 ((rezonodwes.com)) – The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action through its Youth and Insertion Directorate, this Saturday, December 15, 2018, thousands of young people in three centers to recreate healthily while practicing football, the basketball, volleyball, athletics, checkers, and learning about leadership, entrepreneurship, citizenship education, risk and disaster management, the environment, and sexually transmitted infections.
During this day, the Polyvalent Training Center (Croix-des-Bouquets Ranch) welcomed young people from Croix-des-Bouquets, Canaan and Cite Soleil, the Dadadou Sports Center brought together those of Bas Delmas , Solino, Bel-Air and Carrefour-Feuilles, while the Carrefour Sports Center brought together participants from Carrefour, La Saline, Martissant and Fontamara.
Minister Edwing Charles opened the program at Carrefour after inviting young people to engage in education to change their lives and live in dignity.
“Your future does not depend on where you come from or what others think about you or what you expect of others, but on the choices you make,” said Charles, who shared with young people modest origins and confided to them that he became a lawyer and decision-maker for the nation because he made the choice of education and respected the moral principles and established standards.
Emu by the talents of the participants and especially the performance of a young saxophonist at the Carrefour Sports Center and two dancers at the Dadadou Sports Center including one with reduced mobility, the Minister Charles reiterated his willingness to accompany the Haitian youth who is the essence of the nation.
“These determined and talented young people need to be mentored in order to flourish better and serve the country,” said the MJSAC holder who announced the launch of this program in the Department of Center on December 22nd after Northwestern on December 8 and West on December 15.
Youth Weekend Organization is an important element for MJSAC as part of its mission to provide spaces exchange and leisure activities for young people, to preserve young people from questionable behavior, to foster a culture of peace through living together and to promote civic values.
The repetition of this kind of program throughout the national territory is in line with the roadmap that was delivered to the Minister Charles by Prime Minister Jean Henry Céant and in line with the vision of President Jovenel Moïse for the youth
